The reason we went for HDCAM-SR was the availability of decks in Atlanta if we had to go back to a tape as a safety. We were doing on set captures over the dual-link HD-SDI, so we felt comfortable with the lightly compressed tape stock if we had to go back and recapture. The Viper is the only one who let you to capture a full 1080p 4:4:4 rgb data stream without any type of tape compression since it don't use tapes Why don’t you use the thomson Viper ?
